Sauteed asparagus with aged Gouda


1 T plus 1 1/2 ts unsalted butter
1 lb thin asparagus, trimmed
course salt and freshly ground pepper
2 oz Gouda cheese, shaved

melt the butter in a lg skillet over medium-high heat. Add asparagus spears, and saute until they are tender and bright green, 2-3 min. Season with salt and pepper. Transfer to a large platter, and top with Gouda. Serve immediatly.
